Wakeboard Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced wakeboard manager to manage the day to day running of the Cable Park at Let’s Go Hydro!

 Role: Wakeboard Manager

Contract: Seasonal – April – October 2023 

Located: Let’s Go Hydro, Cable Park, Belfast International Watersports Resort, Knockbracken Reservoir, Mealough Road.

Hours of Work: Full-Time, 40-hours per week, including evening and weekends

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 p/a

Job Summary  

This position will be responsible for overseeing the cable park, including cable operators, watersports activities, and beach arena activities. This position will oversee daily operations including the Cable Park reception, ensuring cable maintenance, and ensuring the overall well-being of the customers & employees. It is a fast-paced environment full of fun and excitement and the role will also oversee the development of additional water activities including beach volleyball, beach rugby and beach football programmes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing, coaching, and developing staff to assist with the daily running of the Cable Park and Beach Arena.
  • Liaise with Sports Development Officer on promotion of beach arena and other sporting activities
  • Hosting all customers and offering suitable ticket options, carry out training and coaching to all users
  • Supervising the opening and closing duties of the cable & beach arena
  • Introduce policies and procedures that are necessary to manage the programmes and ensure staff are trained
  • Accident prevention; ensure safe operations of the cable and beach arena activities are adhered too and any incidents are investigated and recorded accordingly
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and stock takes are carried out on a regular basis
  • Ensure safety of riders and they are using appropriate gear and advising them of the norms and offer training in basic riding skills
  • Ensure safe operation of the cable system, supervise cleaning and maintenance of the infrastructure, rental gear and facilities
  • Supervise on-site activity ensuring health and safety requirements and policy is being adhered to
  • Collecting, reporting, and checking risk assessments, reports and records
  • Ensure staff assist riders off the dock and continue to give tips to ensure a positive dock experience
  • Maintain a safe, clean and friendly environment
  • Liaising with other Hydro departments regarding upcoming events, strategies, and future plans
  • Keep up with industry standards, teaching techniques and hold staff training days
  • Promote current wake board and beach arena programmes to all customers
  • Manage budgets for staff rotas

Essential Skills: 

  • At least two or more years’ staff management and operational experience
  • Experience in a customer facing service provide role
  • Highly motivated and good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Able to take responsibility, multi-task and be a team player
  • Highly organised, creative and detail orientated
  • Motivated with a fun and positive attitude with good people skills, enabling good working relationships with those in your team
  • Strong project and time-management skills
  • You must be enthusiastic and passionate about working outdoors

Qualifications:

  • Complete an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) criminal records check

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of delivering and assisting with sports-based events
  • Experience of previous wakeboard and water-ski coaching
  • Able and/or willing to wakeboard
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Lifeguard trained
  • Specific water sports skill
