Contract: Permanent, 40-hours, five-days out of 7-week, varied rota (weekends are required)
Salary: £27,000 – 30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Role level – Middle management
Reporting to – Senior Management
This is a hands-on role, a hardworking, flexible attitude is required. Excellent people skills and experience working with families & young people is essential and you must be enthusiastic and passionate about your role and working outdoors.

Job Summary
We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors and would thrive managing a range of accommodation units focusing heavily on managing a cleaning team and approving the sign off of accommodation units for guests’ arrival. The successful applicant will be responsible for the smooth running of our accommodation units at the resort as well as managing the team of supervisors and accommodation assistants during peak seasons with the support of the wider operational team. You will oversee a third-party cleaning team and one of the main jobs you have will be to ensure cleaning is kept to a high standard and improved. The accommodation includes a wide range of units ranging from glamping pods and a houseboat to quirky Safari Tents and Forest Domes. Units either have shared facilities or are fully self-catering. We would like someone on the team who is not afraid to get stuck in and help clean units if required but there is always a third-party cleaning team on site. The self-catering accommodation units also come with outdoor areas that must be kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
Hours will be varied and will include working evenings and weekends (1100 – 2000 / 0800 – 1600 / 0900 – 1700). This may mean some night duty shifts, as part of a rota with the wider accommodation team (during the busy season and during key events). Your days will be varied, managing the reception duties (check in / check out procedures), creating maintenance lists, dealing with guests while they are on site, as well as preparing accommodation units for arrival (hot tubs, fire pits and welcome baskets).
Responsibilities include:
- You will hold a role as head housekeeper by approving the unit ahead of guest arrival after the cleaners have been
- This is an operational role and will require you to be out on site – there is an office team that will manage procedures and rotas that you will implement.
- Check guests in and outand carry out all admin and operational duties in preparation for check ins / check out
- You will manage the third-party cleaning team to ensure all units they have cleaned are up to our standard
- Create a robust way to manage units that require cleaning / ensure the cleaning team are cleaning units on the day of check out
- Each unit must be treated as a mini home and ensure guests have a seamless customer experience at the resort
- Organise training, re-training of staff, and keep records up to date
- Inspect each pod/accommodation and toilet/shower blocks before check-in; top up accommodation with any consumables, top up / update welcome pack with any added information
- Report maintenance to the team and follow up that this was complete
- First point of contact for all accommodation guests, must be professional and be able to answer guest queries, and resolve any issues
- Manage and direct the cleaning team, pay particular attention to both hygiene and presentation
- Oversee cleaning of all accommodation, toilet & shower blocks, ensure cleaning checklist completed
- Supervise, coach and lead staff, carrying out training & development, maintaining a professional and positive attitude at all times
- Ensure staff comply with the opening and end of day procedures set by senior management
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance with all staff and customers; complete any necessary risk assessments with support from operational team
- Ensure emergency contact procedure is followed and communicated to guests
- Manage the accommodation phone

To be considered for this role you will have management experience working within the leisure, fast paced hospitality, or outdoor adventure industry. The ideal candidate will have:
Essential Criteria:
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role within Housekeeping, leisure, hospitality, or outdoor adventure industry is essential
- Accommodation/housekeeping experience
- Must enjoy working outdoors, in a hands-on operational role
- Excellent customer services skills and experience
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build rapport and trust
- Excellent management skills with previous leadership experience
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, with decision making skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent timekeeping, with a can-do attitude and positive outlook
- Online booking system experience is desirable
- Committed, motivated, pro-active and enthusiastic with an approachable attitude towards work
- Right to Work in the UK (UK Citizens – Passport or Birth Certificate & NI / All other Citizens – Copy of Sharecode Document)
- Full clean driving licence, and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility to work days, evenings and weekends
- Must have NO more than one week’s holiday booked through our peak season July & August
