Night Security

We are currently seeking experienced Night Security staff to join the team at Let’s Go Hydro!

Job Title: Night Security  

Responsible to: General Manager  

Contract: Fixed-Term Contracts – April – September, with the potential to extend depending on operational need

Hours of work: Initially part-time hours, increasing to full time hours for peak season (June – August)

Hours of work: Low season – 1700 – 2300 Friday and Saturday / Peak Season 2100 – 0700, varied rota, Monday – Sunday. (In peak-season every night to be covered)

Location: Lets Go Hydro, Belfast International Watersports, Knockbracken Reservoir, 1 Mealough Road, Carryduff

Salary: £11.50 – £12.50 per hour

Job Summary

As Night Security, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of the Resort. This includes carrying out site walks, completing site security checklists, monitoring site security & safety. All whilst providing high standards of customer service, health & safety, cleanliness and hygiene and ensuring others visiting maintain these standards throughout their time at the resort.  Responsibilities will also include carrying out cleaning duties whilst monitoring and maintaining regular security checks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out checks in all areas of the resort throughout the night; ensuring site security, health and safety and onsite traffic management is maintained
  • Regularly walking the site, reporting on any incidents or issues, completing checklists, including but not limited to closing down checklist / reservoir lock up check list / accommodation lock down check list
  • Assisting in operating reception area and attending to guests needs, including dealing with all customer and telephone enquiries
  • Ensuring all closing procedures and security are adhered to for the protection of staff and property and customers as a whole
  • Ensure that due care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, residents and any other persons on the premises
  • Record any unusual occurrences or problems arising to the Duty Manager and take appropriate action
  • Complete any incident reports and maintenance reports and distribute to relevant departments (including reporting any faulty equipment to the relevant department)
  • Attend training courses as and when necessary
  • Report and where appropriate take action on any incident, fire, loss or damage
  • Be familiar with and promote Park facilities and attractions; assist guests with any requests e.g. information, making bookings, directions and ensuring guest needs are met and followed up with accommodation management
  • Ensure good communication with all departments throughout the park
  • Follow up and communicate any comments or complaints; pass on to management if unable to resolve
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed on each shift that a full and thorough handover takes place at the end of the shift
  • Report for duty punctually in the correct uniform, paying attention to personal hygiene and tidiness
  • Help to maintain a good working environment within the department and good working relationships with all other departments within the Park; give assistance to other departments as and when necessary
  • Accept reasonable changes or additions in work hours, during peak trading periods/ keyevents or unforeseen circumstances.

This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities but will evolve and change depending on business needs.

Essential Criteria:

  • At least 3 years previous night security experience or similar
  • Previous experience in leisure, fast paced hospitality, or outdoor adventure industry
  • Thorough knowledge of security processes, monitoring and conducting checks and minimizing any potential risks
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety within the workplace
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated and solution focused
  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
  • The role is subject to Right to Work checks as per UK employment law.
  • Excellent people skills and experience working with families & young people is essential and you must be enthusiastic and passionate about your role and working outdoors.
