Changing Room Attendants

We are looking for responsible individuals to work within our Wetsuit & Changing Barn for the Summer 2023 season 

Role: Changing Room Attendant   

Responsible to: Duty Manager  

Located: Let’s Go Hydro, Belfast International Watersports Resort, Knockbracken Reservoir, Mealough Road 

Contract: Seasonal  (April – October)

Hours of Work: Various shift patterns are available, including day, evening and weekends 

Job Summary  

Successful candidates will maintain the smooth incoming and outgoing of wetsuits for customers, as well as repair damaged wetsuits.  They will assist the Duty Managers in providing a high level of customer service in a professional manner, to ensure a high quality experience is provided to all guests. Successful applicants will also be required to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene of their working area at all times. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Interact with customers responsibly and welcome all users of the facilities, promoting a positive image of the resort and demonstrate a high level of customer service 
• Offer advice and assistance to customers as required, maintaining a high standard of service in the distribution and collection of wetsuits to/from customers 
• Clean and dry wetsuits between uses; assess damage and take the appropriate action to repair or remove from rotation 
• Check the safety of equipment in areas of responsibility and report any damage or malfunction of equipment, to the Duty Manager immediately after discovery 
• Assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment and minor repairs when required  
• Ensure that a consistently high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the facilities at all times  
• Carry out regular checks and cleaning of the changing facilities, paying particular attention to customer safety, facility operation, security, cleanliness and hygiene
• Ensure that lost property is handled and recorded in line with procedures 
• Maintain the changing rooms, toilets and public areas within the Changing Barn and outside areas, ensuring a clean, safe and tidy environment  
• Assist in the opening and closing of the facilities when required and assist in monitoring the security of the premises at all times  
• Perform regular inventory of wetsuits and all required cleaning and sanitisation products needed for the operation of the Wetsuit Container 
• Comply with the resorts Health and Safety procedures at all times, maintaining records and reports 
• Report any matter of concern to the Duty Manager immediately, including any accidents, potential risks etc 
• Prepare activity areas involving the setting up/dismantling of equipment 
• Complete risk assessments on changing areas and the overall Changing Barn facility   
• Undertake any suggested training requirements and attend staff meetings as required 
• Comply with the Emergency Action Plan for the facilities and assist with any such incidents in the appropriate manner.  

Essential skills/experience: 

• Excellent communication skills when dealing with the public 
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork (completing checklists) 
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions 
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures 
• Previous cleaning experience and ability to work to high standards  
• Flexible to work varied shifts, including day, evening and weekend shifts 
• Enjoy working outdoors  
• Right to work in the UK documentation  

Desirable skills/experience: 

• Stock take and inventory experience 

This is a hands-on role, and although there will be some administration tasks a hardworking, flexible attitude is required. A hardworking, flexible attitude is required with a potential to develop further.  Excellent people skills and experience working with families & young people is essential and you must be enthusiastic and passionate about your role and working outdoors.
