Activity Supervisors
We are looking for responsible and experienced Activity Supervisors for the Let’s Go Hydro Resort for the 2023 season
Role: Activities Supervisor
Contract: Seasonal
Reports to: Activity Manager
Hours of Work: Flexible Shift patterns are available – work up to 40-hours per week, including day, evening and weekend shifts
Job Summary
Successful candidates will supervise all activity-based staff, including the Aqua Park, Changing Barn, Activities Reception and assist with Events and Group Bookings. Supervision will encompass the security and safety of the public ensuring their enjoyment in all areas of the resort, minimising the risk of any health and safety issues and respond to emergencies. They will assist the Activities Manager in overseeing the daily running of the resort, and staff management, to ensure a high quality of service is provided to all guests. Head Lifeguards will report directly to Activity Supervisors. Successful applicants will also be required to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene of working area.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with the public, welcoming all customers, promoting a positive image of the resort and demonstrating a high level of customer service
- Maintain a vigilant watch of all water areas and take necessary action to ensure the safety of all customers and staff
- Assist Activities Managers with scheduling and updating the Rota Ready systems
- Provide documentation for Health and Safety Review meetings
- Plan and record all equipment maintenance for Aqua Park and Water Sports activities
- Completion of accident reporting, and assisting with carrying out first-aid if required
- Department and Resort opening and closing including keyholder responsibilities
- Patrol all areas of the facility and ensure that all areas are being used in the correct manner
- Planning and communicating with other departments to assist in customer flow through activities
- Attend and run daily briefings with Head Lifeguards and all activity staff members
- Carry out regular checks of the changing facilities, paying particular attention to customer safety, facility operation, security, cleanliness and hygiene
- Perform inspections of safety equipment including rescue aids and alarms in accordance with the operating procedures
- Attend weekly accident review meetings with updates on risk reduction actions that have been taken or are in progress
- Administration duties as required in the main office area
- Comply with the resorts Health and Safety procedures at all times, maintaining records and reports
- To report any accidents, potential risks etc to management, complete risk assessments on water areas and activities
Essential skills/experience:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience supervising staff, in a lifeguard/lifesaver role, preferably in a Head Lifeguard or Lifeguard Supervisory role
- Activity or NGB qualification
- First Aid and CPR qualification
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with the public
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
- Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
- Enjoy working outdoors, with a can-do attitude, and customer service and safety focused
- Flexible to work varied shifts, including day, evening and weekend shifts
Desirable skills/experience:
- Health and Safety training
- Previous experience with advanced water sports/ activities
- Previous supervisor and management experience
A hardworking, flexible attitude is required with a potential to develop further. Training for the role can be provided, however excellent people skills and experience working with young people is essential and you must be enthusiastic and passionate about working outdoors.
